It all began with the adoption of our first son Felix. During our one month stay, according to the adoption laws in Sri Lanka, we travelled the country and visited the most important cultural sites. On our way to Sigiriyarock we passed by a small clay hut that was being used as a kindergarten. At a closer look we noticed that only a dark painted piece of cardboard was beeing used as a blackboard. We quickly arranged for a proper blackboard to be bought in Colombo and presented it to the kindergarten. Four years after this first visit, while adopting our second son Stefan, we returned to the kindergarten and noticed that the blackboard was still in good condition. This motivated us to keep helping and buy furniture for the classrooms. At this time the rhamshackle roof of the hut needed repairs for the cost of 50 Swiss Francs. Luckily we were able to secure donations in the amount of 5000 Swiss Francs enabling us to build a proper house. That was the year 1990 and the beginning of our charity Lanka-Help.

Each year we travel at least once to Sri Lanka with a hands on attitude to coordinate and control our projects.
