Lanka-Help has pledged to pay the salaries of the teachers, as well as to cover al miscellaneous costs such as school supplies, a yearly excursion and the celebrations of Children’s Day and christmas and Sri-Lanka-New-Year (celebrated in April). We also pledged to cover the costs of building three new playgrounds.
The parents of these children are working class and leave their homes regulary around 4 :30 until 16:00. Female volunteers from the region have agreed to escort those kids regulary to kindergarten. Because those kids do not get meals during the day we have been asked to cover the costs to provide regular meals for those children. Local women cook and then distribute the food. Lanka-Help has agreed to cover these running costs.
