– a great community experience
At the end of May 2025, two teachers, Mrs Sugawathy and Mrs Wasugi, took the initiative to organise a clean-up day with the children from the nursery school – just as they had done several years ago.
The children participated in the activity with great enthusiasm and dedication. They were actively supported by several committed mothers, who pitched in and made the day a real community experience.
Such initiatives not only strengthen the children’s environmental awareness, but also promote cooperation between teachers, parents and children.
This shows us once again that some seemingly crazy ideas can ultimately yield wonderful results.
Mrs Sugawathy and Mrs Wasugi are doing extraordinary work. As they both live in the village, they teach the kindergarten children in the mornings and offer extra tuition for the schoolchildren in the afternoons. The schoolchildren attend school in the nearby larger village in the mornings and return at lunchtime to attend the so-called ‘extra class’. There they receive a balanced lunch – a special incentive to attend regularly. This kindergarten is very remote, which makes it all the more important for the children to receive a good education.
